Welcome to 4th grade
Hello parents and families,
We are so excited for your child to join us in fourth grade! We can’t wait to begin a fun year of learning together. We will be following the school’s safety plan in order to ensure a safe learning environment for every student. Here are a few things to be aware of for the first day of school:
-
Fourth grade students who wish to have breakfast at school will enter through the south door in the back by the playground between 7:40-7:45. This door can be accessed from the entrance on 22nd St. If students arrive after 7:45, they need to go to the front of the building. Students will exit at the end of the day through these doors.
-
Please see the supply list for a list of suggested materials.
All fourth grade teachers will be using Seesaw for communication. Your child’s teacher will share this information at your back-to-school meeting.
If you have any questions or concerns going into the school year, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher using the contact information below:

STEM
STEM – Science * Technology * Engineering * Mathematics
New Bridge is a Utah STEM Platinum Designated School and a PLTW Distinguished School!
Our focus at New Bridge is literacy-based STEM integrated with other subjects in every grade. Project Lead the Way Launch guides both K-5 teachers and students through a grade appropriate comprehensive problem-based STEM curriculum. PLTW Gateway is used in 6th grade. Units include "Green Architecture," "Flight & Space," and "Science Technology."
All students also participate in other STEM activities such as coding and 3d printing. Throughout all we do, students are focused on problem solving, finding innovative solutions, and making collaborative efforts with their peers.
In addition to weekly STEM activities, all students are invited to complete an assigned monthly STEM challenge at home with their families and come test their projects at school! All students who participate receive recognition for their efforts! Students spend much of second quarter preparing for our annual STEM Fair.
Our culminating activity at the end of the year is our community STEM Fest! We encourage our learning community to support, encourage, and celebrate our students efforts in becoming the best they can be!
